Edokiriko

It is said that production of Edokiriko was started by Kyubei Kagaya who managed a glass wholesaler in Edo cut foreign-made glasses which were brought by Western Europeans during Edo era.

Edokiriko is a mainly red or blue transparent glassware on which original patterns are engraved. Varieties of patterns are designed on the basis of nature and curves.

Edo Wood Print

Wood-print was introduced into Japan together with Buddhism in the late 500s. 

And then, it was dramatically and originally developed as Edo wood-print in the late Edo period.

It depends on the appearance of genius ukiyoe artists such as Utamaro Kitagawa, Sharaku Toshusai, Hokusai, Hokusai Katsushika, and Hiroshige Utagawa.
